The evolution of the diesel engine for cars.

Discussions about finding new alternative sources of energy for our cars is now a matter of time. Indeed, scientists and engineers in the automotive industry have begun to find ways both to use energy resources as engine optimization for existing resources, as in the 70′s.

People found that the big engines were inefficient and began to look for new solutions. The response to the large gasoline engines were turbo diesel engines with smaller size. Until then diesel engines have been used mainly in heavy machinery and large trucks.

The “General Motors” was almost the first company to install diesel engines in cars like the Chevrolet Caprice and the Oldsmovile, but these engines were shaking a lot and not very reliable, GM soon admitted he was doing wrong and re-equip those cars with gasoline engines.

It was something that caused a bad impression and the reason why many people still wary of buying a car powered by diesel engine these days.

Diesel and pollution.

Diesel engines also cause a little pollution compared with gasoline and pollution taxes increasing every year, nobody wants to pay more for your car if you can buy a car with petrol and put less money down.
