We jumped at chance to continue appreciating and discovering more and more about the new Lancia Stratos. In this (yet) One-Off as we have been following as closely as possible and we have already seen thousands of official photos and a video where you see it in action. But it’s never enough, never. That’s why whenever we are given the opportunity, show something else.
In this case we show the model completely “naked” and gained access to some very interesting data about its salient features.
As is well known the new Lancia Stratos has been built on the structure of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia and now we have other data that says that the Ferrari chassis has been cut by about 33 centimeters to be adapted to the new Stratos.
The model is 33 inches shorter than the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, thanks mainly to its short overhangs. But while we have this data is also filtered other: the monocoque aluminum extruded profiles of the new Lancia Stratos has been reinforced with an aluminum cage cromomolibdeno of 40 mm. diameter as specified by the FIA for this type of cars.
Another work that has had engineers working on the project is the re-calibration suspension system, while also have added new shocks with remote control located on the wheel.
We have also worked hard throughout the brake system, which have incorporated new Brembo pads, more and more biting reaction (lasting less than the other), while some other elements of the car are designed exclusively for this particular model, namely, intake manifolds and exhaust system.
Other operations performed on the reference model of the transmission is now adopting a mechanical differential (no address). Stratos electronics has been completely revised and recalibrated to allow changes furious placed at intervals of less than 60 milliseconds. The address of the new electro-hydraulic Stratos.
Another detail is not unimportant: even though the Stratos will have added safety cage and an air conditioner, it is considerably lighter than the Ferrari F430 Scuderia that has given rise (in particular is 80 kg lighter).
As you can see we can go deeper and deeper into the world of this wonderful car and we had access to new insights. The promise has done it again: we will continue to carca to show and give details yet.
